One of our local radios stations started the Running of the Chihuahuas in their parking lot. Several years later it has become an entire day event with bands, food trucks, and vendor booths. I will readily admit that in years past I did wish out loud for a Chihuahua. Well, be careful what you wish for… Callie is 100% opposite of the pugs and sometimes she drives me crazy. Well, guess who redeemed herself? Callie did. We signed up for the Running of the Chihuahuas with about 200 other tiny dogs. They broke the entries into heats. Callie won her heat!!!!!! She didn’t win the next round, but we were so proud of her.

Callie’s first parade
October 10th, 2013This was my fourth MainX 24 parade, but this was Callie’ s first. I thought it would be so much fun to take Callie since she is so high energy. I did not count on her barking at everyone and everything. To make life easier on all of us, I carried her the entire parade route. Oh well.
Merry Christmas from the Chihuahua

A Chihuahua has changed our lives
October 8th, 2013On June 18th, 2012, my husband sent me a text.
HUSB:Found Chihuahua. What should I do?
ME: It’s fine (Me thinking that my husband does not know if dog is a Chihuahua or Great Dane)
HUSB: Gonna bring it home
ME: Okay (Thinking he isn’t really bring a dog home. This is the person who tells me we have too many dogs)
HUSB: Pulling up, come outside
This is when I go outside with a bath towel and my husband hands me 6lbs of shivering Mexican dog. Oops, he really does know what a Chihuahua is and he really brought her home. The poor baby was running along side the road of a 5 lane road where it intersects with another 5 line road. Yikes, it was a miracle she wasn’t squished.
1000 PUG Photo Shoot
October 8th, 2013This is our BPF (Best Pug Friend) Pippa. She is having her photo taken for the 1000 Pugs Photo Shoot. We woke up super early to drive to Atlanta. Hung around most of the afternoon in the Marietta Square lounging on the grass waiting for Lola & Violet to get their turn in front of the camera. (I felt really bad for not booking a spot for Etta.) A portion of the sitting fee will go to SEPRA. We can’t wait for the final pictures. www.1000pugs.com
